EmberSave / 01

Save a Short in three steps

Copy the Short’s link

Open the Short, select Share, and copy its link. A supported link looks like youtube.com/shorts/VIDEO_ID; a youtu.be share link is also accepted.

Review the actual options

Choose a listed container and quality. Check the audio label before preparing the file.

Save after processing

When the status changes to ready, save the file before its 30-minute link expires.

Keep the shape of the original

A vertical Short stays vertical. EmberSave doesn’t crop it into a landscape frame or stretch it to a larger resolution. Resolution labels describe the source stream; a portrait video’s dimensions are best understood as width × height.

A /shorts/ URL identifies a video, not an entire channel’s Shorts feed. Links to a channel’s Shorts tab aren’t accepted. The same public video may also have a normal watch link, which uses the same download workflow.

The current server limits are 30 minutes, 500 MiB and up to 1080p when available. Only the listed formats can be requested.

Shorts-specific troubleshooting

The link opens a feed

Return to the individual Short and use its Share button. Don’t copy a channel’s /shorts page.

The Short has no sound after saving

Check that you chose an option labeled with audio, then test the file in a player that supports its codecs. The source itself may also have no audio.

A familiar quality isn’t listed

The source may supply different encodings, the upload may still be processing, or a server limit may apply. The tool does not generate extra resolution.

Shorts questions

Will the tool remove logos or captions?

No. It saves the available media streams without editing out visual content. Captions already embedded in the picture remain.

Can I save a private or members-only Short?

No. Accounts, cookies for restricted content and access-control bypasses aren’t supported.

Can I download every Short on a channel?

No. Each request handles one selected video.
