Where did my downloaded video go?

A ready job and a saved file are two different steps. First select Save file on EmberSave. Then use your browser’s download list to confirm that the local download finished.

Start with the browser’s Downloads list

Open Downloads from your browser’s menu. A completed item usually offers a way to open the file or show its folder. A paused or failed item has not finished saving; resume or retry while the server link remains valid.

Browser settings can change where files are saved or ask you to choose a location every time. A preview window alone doesn’t prove that a persistent local copy was saved.

On Windows, macOS or Linux

Check the Downloads folder in your file manager, or use the browser’s show-in-folder action. If you chose a different destination, look there. Sorting by modification time can help locate a recent file.

Keep the supplied .mp4 or .webm extension. Renaming an extension does not convert the media. Use a player that supports the file’s container and codecs.

On Android

Check Downloads in the browser that saved the file, then the Downloads area of your device’s Files or file-manager app. App names and storage locations vary by manufacturer.

A video file may not appear immediately in a gallery app. Finding it in the file manager is the more direct check. Make sure the device has enough free space for the download.

On iPhone or iPad

For Safari, check its download list and the Files app. The download destination is controlled by Safari’s settings and may be in iCloud Drive or local device storage. Other browsers may handle saving differently.

A downloaded file is not automatically added to Photos. If you want it there, use a supported share or save action for that file; available choices depend on the browser and media compatibility.

If the file was never saved

The temporary EmberSave link expires 30 minutes after the file becomes ready. Once it expires, return to the tool and prepare the video again. A local file already saved on your device is not deleted when the server copy expires.

If saving fails repeatedly, check free storage, browser download permissions and the network connection before creating a new job.
